St John Neumann

Tomorrow is the Feast of St John Neumann. I was introduced to him by dear friends who took me to his shrine when I converted to Catholicism in 2004. I was privileged to attend Mass in the upper church, at the end of 40 Hours devotion. I didn’t know St John Neumann was the person who started 40 hours until that night. He has been a favorite of mine ever since.

His feast day takes on significance for me now because one year ago tomorrow my sister in law Doris passed away. What a blessing to know that because of Christ’s propitiation, I can pray for Doris’ soul. St John Neumann’s feast day falling on First Friday–How cool is that????
